GGG you are doing a massive mistake already (mixed rewards) !

GGG is already turning something that they were doing right in comparison with PoE 1 into a massive mistake, and that's specific mechanic rewards, and im talking about soul cores dropping in the temple when it was THE specific Ultimatum reward, it is one of the worst problems in PoE 1 atm and they are already starting to import it here when they were doing great in that regard, in PoE 1 for example fractured items were a synthesis reward and now it's the worst place to get them, same goes for many other mechanics that were supposed to be the main place to get some specific rewards and now they drop "everywhere", that takes away from said mechanics and makes the game bland, every mechanic should have it's selling point with special drops that you can only get there.

I get what you're saying and basically agree.

But soul cores are vaal technology. They make more sense being in the temple than with the trial master, and trial master is related enough to the vaal to have 'some' crossover in loot.

Now if you'll excuse me, Imma go run some blighted maps to farm fossils and vaal sacrifice fragments

Ye, it makes sense, the problem is that Ultimatum is nearly useless now, they can even keep the soul cores in the temple (wich it doesnt need tbh as it already has a lot of special currency associated with it) but in that case Ultimatum needs new toys.

Yeah, both seems to have soul cores and deal with corruption. Does that mean every Vaal mechanic they add will do this? They could focus each Vaal locale on one affect. So Temple has corruption and Trials have soul cores. If they add more Vaal areas they need to add something new. Or maybe it just has soul cores or corruption tweaks that don't exist in the other endgame mechanics.
Think its restricted in what actual cores you can get though.
Mash the clean
I understand the point that each mechanic should be uniquely useful.

Still, this ties into my biggest issue with PoE1: the game is too bloated with extra content. If a certain reward is available in more than one location, that just gives the players options. Restricting rewards can make players feel shoe-horned into playing content they may not enjoy at all (such as Sekhemas...).

There is a balance to be found here. For example, special currencies could be available in multiple places, but certain uniques could be rewards for individual extra content.
