POE 2 isn't hard, its hidden.

Maybe I'm wrong and this is a bit of a rage post, as i lay here dead in a map. But I don't find the content hard or challenging at all. The content itself is easy, however getting to that content or knowing what's going on is the hard part.

From my experience the parts of the game frustrate me to no end are little things like running right after a roll, but you run into some of the mob you were trying to evade, fall down, and just get beat to death like a little orphan.

Or grinding out for an item, and because the boss mechanics aren't telegraphed or have any real order sometimes I'll just die and have no idea what damage type killed me or even what move the boss/monster was doing. Sure I could open my eye's and look at the screen, but when there's a million things going on and shit exploding just for me to prep my single target opening its not really conducive to learning the mechanics. Then I have to spend another 20 div or map for ages to just try it again. But since there's no order to the fights, and I can't see still anyway I really learn nothing about this boss or fight. And endup just running against a wall until it gives.

I have 1500+ hrs in this game and still feel like i don't know shit. The most I learn comes from watching people like thefarmer, fubgun, ghazzi, rex, tri etc. And its not just for the advanced techniques for things, its just trying to figure out basic optimization for a simple currency run. I've got to balance the waystone along with the tablets and their obscure modifiers and breakpoints with my atlas tree. The whole thing is just convoluted.

I can't properly build or plan a character without path of building. Why is it so punishing to try new things? The cost to rest skill points is just gold which is meaningless shortly into the endgame anyway. Hell the tool tip doesn't even give you an effective way to calculate your dps.


Compare that against even normal poe, I tried it for the first time really this league and didn't have to watch a SINGLE GUIDE. And even then it wasn't really rocket science, I was able to just buy specific scarabs and target what I wanted to farm. I didn't have to hunt and sort through a million different tablets with completely different sets of modifiers that adjust millions of things I have no interest in. I spend more time prepping to play than I do actually playing the damn game. And it sucks because once you're on a roll and in a groove everything feels so good.

TLDR; we need a easier way to target specific content. We need to be able to know what attacks are coming either through some sort of telegraphed behavior thats easy to see through the fog of everything else going on, or at least predictable behavior (at least out of most of the fights). And for gods sake please some damn notice of what killed you and the damage and damage type. Along with just a more clear cut boosting system for target farming. I love the new trade but would love to spend less time in the trade window hunting for the perfect tablets.
