Is GGG trying to overcompensate?

After the horrid holidays and complete lack of communication from GGG, which continues now by the way, they have started to post small fixes, and I do mean really small - 1 or 2, two times a day. Is this an attempt to show us how much they care about the game and how much work they put in?

Yes, they probably have 2 unpaid interns doing these fixes, while the rest of the team is sipping coconut milk and sunbathing on the Bahamas laughing at all the complainers
There will propably be a "big" patch before february, meanwhile a lot of small patches/hotfixes...look at previous leagues and see the pattern.
they're not showing us something, they just somehow fix issues sx they pop up.

Yet somehow the game still crashes and runs badly. Such is life I guess.
Where spymasters arent dropping locks anymore, please fix it! I have 10 level 3 spymasters, and they haven't dropped any locks for three consecutive times!!!!

what did you expect when you bough alpha early access?
It sometimes takes a fair bit of time to fix software bugs. The game doesn't crash for me, but no doubt crashes for many others. So GGG needs to replicate the crashes, somehow.

And then they need to start looking into the reason. Then the reason might be difficult to fix elegantly without spaghettifying the code, so some refactoring is needed. Then the refactoring touches other parts, which need to be carefully tested again to make sure nothing broke.

Etc.

It easily takes a long while to fix things like that. And since it is a decently complex game, there might be hundreds of such issues waiting to be fixed.

Usually they do content and larger balance patches mainly only on league starts, due to past complaints about nerfing and sometimes even about buffing skills after league start.

IMO it would be better if they did like a mid-sized balance patch about 4 weeks into the league, which would be this or next week. Would keep the league going a bit longer before trade dies down.

And I wouldn't mind a minor content patch like 4 or 8 weeks into the league, to help close the gap between the leagues. 4 months is a pretty long time these days for content updates in a game like this, especially when it also has much less content than PoE1 and that is likely to be the case for many years to come.
