SSF (No Migration) - New optional mode
|
I would like to suggest a new optional game mode aimed at supporting casual solo players a bit more.
SSF (No Migration) would be a new mode and would not replace the current SSF mode. This mode would be completely isolated and would never allow migration to trade leagues, meaning it would have zero impact on the trade economy. Because this mode removes all access to trade permanently, it could have slightly adjusted drop rates, for example: +5% increased rare item drop rate +1–2% increased unique item drop rate The goal would not be to create an “easy mode”, but to slightly reduce grind that currently exists because SSF uses drop rates balanced around trade availability. For casual players, especially those with limited playtime, it can feel very difficult to obtain strong gear when trade prices are extremely high and drops are tuned for an economy they are not participating in. Since migration would be disallowed, this mode would not affect trade leagues in any way, while giving solo players a better-balanced progression experience. Last bumped on Jan 8, 2026, 10:32:03 AM

I dont think the problem for SSF is the drop rate but the crafting being balance around trade.
Like the omen they removed was nicely balance for SSF having to grind a lot to get them, grind to get some greater or perfect exalt, the other omens etc... But for trade it was totaly busted. Not sure what solution they could find for it but i dont think they want to fix that tbh. Game is meen to be the same in both mode or it wouldnt make sens that it exist imo. SSF player

I've thought a bit about this and I think a clever way to implement it would be to implement some new omens that while activated give you a better chance at decent loot from the gambling vendor but it also made the items account bound and unable to recombinate with non-account bound gear.
Or maybe it wouldn't be omens - maybe for every divine you sell to Ange it "enhances" the next 100 gambles or something like that and you wouldn't need to account bind anything because you could make it so that no "real" wolf of wraeclast would ever want to do it outside of ssf-based play. It would make finding divines in ssf feel good at least lol. The gist is that I think there's a better way to soften the sharp and bitter edge of RNG that happens at the top-end of ssf-based play through the use of the gambling NPC along with some sort of clever "let me sacrifice some orbs and gold that might normally be used for trade in a trade league to slightly enhance the 'drop rate' of rare gear for this gamble session" mechanic. I'm not saying it needs to be on par with obtaining gear within a trade league, but even if it somewhat resembled the OG-Faustus gambling that came along with Settlers league in PoE1, where it seemed to have "smart loot" affixes or something on the gear, I don't think that would be overtly powerful. Alternatively, you could have atlas nodes that were along the lines of "50% less rare currency drops" (since ssf doesn't need divines that much) and then have it's child-node branch off to one of those "pick your flavour" manner similar to how you can specialized the kinds of essences or shrines you are likely to find, and instead of it be like "25% increased rarity and +1 to item tier level for [Maces]" or something along those lines. |

1. If the drop rates are too high in the new mode, everyone will flock there. GGG will not like this, so it will never happen.. GGG does not like raining loot on us. More importantly, GGG won't like us playing that way as that is not the way they intended for us to play otherwise I assume they wouold have just had higher drop rates from the get go.
2. If the drop rate are still too low in the new mode , or for humour sake lets say the drop rates are not touched, than how is this new mode any different from SSF mode that we havfe now? 3. I think what you are truly after is a fresh economy, and as for that, well I dont think SSF are the only ones who should be entitled to a non ruined economy, why shouldnt everyone have the opportunity for a fresh efconomy? Why just SSF when SSF does not even trade... creating a new economy just fort them is completly unfair when they dont even care about economies being SSF and all, and people in trade league ALSO deserve a fresh economy after all the exploits and temple farming. 4. bonus, im a casual player, I hated the exploits and never used them.. I still found a way to adapt and adjust, if you spent all your time writing posts and chilling in the forum on adaptation and adjustment, you'd already be on your way up 5. Im not saying I am against your idea either by the way, I would love a SSF mode with double/triple drop rates. I just know GGG would never allow this to happen, it's the same reason why in private leagues you cant alter the drop rates. Last edited by ZaruenVoresu#5823 on Jan 8, 2026, 7:18:25 AM

No.
SSF is a self imposed higher difficulty, diluting it defeats the purpose. Current Build: Penance Brand
