Cast on Elemental Ailment

I have been running a Cast on Elemental Ailment for about a week. This gem suddenly stopped allowing me to turn it on. When I hover over it, it is telling me "Missing Socketed Skill Gem"

- It has multiple socketed skill gems. 2 comets and 1 living bomb.

- I have 222 of 222 spirit available to turn it on

- None of the support gems inside are being limited by intelligence, strength or dexterity.

- I have the prerequisite intelligence to turn it on for its level.


I asked about this in global chat and 2 others claimed the very same thing happened to them. They had to buy/build another. This isnt super feasible as mine is a 21/23 and cost entirely too much at this point in the league to recraft with the failure rate.

I have a similar issue with these gems, but with the skill "cast on krit". It's a very frustrating experience in the game, because I don't even understand why it happens... (I suspect the support gem that gives +1 skill level and 10% quality is to blame—but that's just my case.)

My particular setup is/was

CoA Comet > Comet > Living Bomb > Boundless Energy II, > Efficiency II. I let my friend equip it and it still didnt work. I decided to just double corrupt it and poof. It isnt world ending, but thats a 20D bug with level 20 spirit gem prices this league.

Equipping a new one with the exact same requirements worked immediately.. Hopefully this is addressed. Thats a costly bug for many. This happens on Cast on Crit as well.

Mine randomly stopped working yesterday. In the toggle aura screen it shows that I turned it on but in game it still shows me having 100 unused spirit and I don’t know how to fix it, tried creating another gem and still didn’t work….really annoying. Even tried taking off my gear and even uninstalling the game and still won’t work. Any ideas?

had this problem a couple of days ago, still dont know why it happened but I solved it by opening up the skill details panel of the meta gem (that little arrow next to where the dps/dmg is or is supposed to be), selecting the active skills in there by clicking on their respective icons at the top and making sure that both weapon sets are checked at the bottom.
