Eternal Knights are stealing my fun

I m playing a plant druid with the majority of damage output coming from aoe spells and this damage is not only somehow not working on Eternal Knights, the hits are also triggering the knights effect of firing its projectile towards me. These projectiles on their own are already deadly and its a little more dangerous when they are spammed at you with significant speed. I can only assume that most of my spell hits count as coming from the front, which would also explain the low damage.
I am somewhat able to counter white ones with my basic attack, but blue and yellow would take far too long, not to mentioned when they are surrounded by other enemies i have to kill with my aoe. I am especially frustrated because i am hard countered here. I know i can most likely ignore them eventually, but that doesnt feel good. It destroys the flow of the game and i dont think this should be intended since its one specific enemy that has this kind of effect. Every map featuring Eternal Knight will be a drag from now on. I hate them i always hated them since 0.1 its just the biggest bs mob. I have 2.4k hours and been building my own builds meta builds etc. Its just bad like alot in the game. It would be fine if the reflected projectiles didnt almost kill you in 1 second. Maybe its zacchies design choice for memorable and unique mobs. Its certainly unique in a bad way.

The projectiles they fire comes from their shield, you have to either bait an attack and then attack, or go behind them, just dont attack the shield (easier said than done)
But i recognize their annoyance, especially the fact that you encounter them very early in the game when the options to deal with that are not many |

For me it's a bug, they are hit by mele not a projectile ND it's really annoing
