How much item rarity should I have?
|
So I've been doing T15 maps with 6 mods for the past week. I've been corrupting my maps to but I've gotten a single T16 which is... something. I typically run whichever waystones have the highest % increased rarity of items found, I have about 50% from my gear, and I try to use tablets with rarity. I just ran a cleansed T15 map with 185% rarity, 3 tablets with >20% each, so around 350% rarity total and the rarest item I got was a (single) perfect exalt. I have gotten more consistent crafting drops, got a few omens of light, some expensive essences, but I want those for crafting and don't necessarily want to just dump into the currency exchange. What am I doing wrong here?
Edit: Just want to add that I've had 1 raw div drop in the past week. Last edited by F0urT0nMantis#5275 on Jan 5, 2026, 10:38:18 PM Last bumped on Jan 6, 2026, 10:50:53 AM

" Before you get angry at me for stating facts, consider that I'm not doing it to be mean, but to give you a precise answer. You lack efficiency. The reason you got one t16 in a week of corrupting and running maps is because you're not doing enough of them in each session. If you complete a few maps a day, then a couple divines a week is around the median outcome you should expect outside of min maxing tablet+map mods, which you cannot really afford with that income. Sadly the whole loot system in this game is a direct copy + paste from poe1, which means that you need to build your character for pure speed and damage and play at breakneck speeds in order to generate any sort of gains in a trade league. You're either spending too much time in your hideout and/or taking too much time in maps due to lack of damage, or overall inefficiency in how you play your character. |

No, the games with zoom mentality and the same people with poe1 trading created that feeling that you have to do the same. If you run maps the paste GGG was intended - the divs will have more value and you will have less currency but with high value. Currently they don't know how to resolve this problem. They want the same poe1 zoomers to play po2 slower
That's ain't gonna happen and we are seeing this - they trade is flooded , the inflammation is enormous and the endgame for most people is awful - people that want to play shower got less currency with less value , normal players (i consider myself in that paragraph play they I'm somehow middle ground between slower and zoomer), has okay currently if they want to buy mediocre stuff and zoomers that want to finish the game for a week , broke the economy and leave the game. There aren't a simple solution for this problem, so I'll be right and wrong depends on the people who read this. About the first question - you can earn much divs , you just don't know strategies. Go fast with good tablets and maps , go farm things that are needed in trade or flip. There are videos that people flip low level runes and got HH for day or two. EDIT: To the main post - you need effectiveness on the tablest and more rare mobs + you can add some nodes from atlas passive to boost drops - you can make shrines to give you more drops. There are play of ways to boots map drops. Last edited by dr_gilotin#9843 on Jan 6, 2026, 4:31:28 AM

120-150% on gear is good i think, noticed a pretty big difference going from around 70%ish to 130%ish (while everything else was the same)

You want 100% to get better results, 150% is better and everything after that has diminishing returns.
Tablets with rarity help, but having good waystones with high rarity helps as well. In general focus on corrupted and cleansed maps since they add extra modifiers and provide even better loot. MinMax your Atlas Tress for Currency Drops if you aim for that. If you google it you will find quite a few Guides for that. Waystones should have at least 80% rarity and +rare mobs combined before its worth to run them. So 40% rare mobs and 40% rarity is fine (still could be better, just a baseline). 0% Rare mobs and 60 % isnt as good (usually, might still be worth to use them for traveling over the map on nodes not corrupted or cleansed or simply because the rarity is still "nice"). |

Rarity doesnt matter in the current patch for mapping. Everything that scales based on rarity you are better off seeking from the temple. In maps you should focus on things exclusive to maps (ritual omens, abyss omens, etc.) and these drops are scaled better by using maps with more rare monsters or pack size. Tablets are ideally monster effectiveness and the other stats i mentioned. you do not need any character rarity for mapping, and your maps are better off being ran with non rarity modifiers.
