The Issue is Tencent not GGG

They aren't treating this game as thought its early access

From the start of season 3 I was left completley baffled, I asked myself and others why is GGG focussing on adding new seasonal mechanics, when we don't even have a finished game yet, its in EA

Wouldn't it make sense to you know, finish the base game, work out the kinks, then at an official 1.0 launch, start league and seasonal mechanics..

Instead they are implemnting these seasons and this new content, when we are still missing content from the main game, we don't want bunk half thought out season mechanics

We just want a polished game, our feedback addressed by say you know a community manager?

This truly just feels like a scam and its not GGG, its Tencent...

GGG looked to Tencent to fund this project, Tencent wants to see a steady stream of income HENCE WHY WE HAD TO PAY FOR EARLY ACCESS, AND THEIR STARTING TO OFFER ALL THESE DIFFERENT "SUPPORTER" PACKS EACH SEASON....

They don't care about what we have to say, just as long as moneys coming in thats fine by them, GGG gotta pander to the Tencent overlords and that would further explain Chris's departure....

GGG has been doing this for over a decade now, they aren't some new company that doesn't know how decisions will be felt.

Tencent is many things but they aren't known to interfere with the creative process of their products.Sure they force microtransactions but when it comes to decisions it's entirely on the company making the product. This is Jonathan's fault to a T,not Tencent or even GGG as a whole, and it won't stop until the numbers drop eventually which evidence already points to.Chris had to learn this the hard way as well so it's not like it's not a common issue for management.

I agree. That's true. I think the problem is (Jonathan and Mark) because they prefer to develop the game one league at a time. When PoE2 was announced, it was stated that it would be released complete with version 1.0, but if you examine the game carefully, you'll notice that about 80% of the content is still missing. If they continue at their current pace, it seems we'll only get the full version in 2.5. They seem to be focusing more on microtransactions than on developing the game.

The issue isn't Temcent, they have zero responsibility on this leagues problems. The only issue you can point to Temcent is being 'an absent father' and not paying enough attention to what is happening and the risks of the same issues spread across their portfolio.

Temcent didn't pointed a gun to Wilsons head, he left, he has his reasons... But the world doesn't stop because someone left. Saudosisn doesn't help either.

This league is a massive governance issue on GGG, the back and forth with nerfs wasn't a victory for players, it was a massive defeat for GGG governance on the game. The league is trashed, let's hope they learned enough not to repeat again.

Ya I was wrong, It may just be GGG and horrible management, like

There isnt even a single person addressing the community, no community manager, no weekly news or anything like that, they need people engaging with the community and actively acknowledging things and issues and stop the community from being so divided

I agree with you when it comes to ambiguity on how they handle the community, specially streamers Vs players. But this ambiguity is also present on things like 'what is an exploit', sanctions for people which abuse exploits, etc.

I understand that fighting bots, RMT, etc is a hard work, but we need better mitigations.

The community will always be divided, this happens in all games, I remember this happening in World of Warcraft, specially around Paladin topics and Kalgan... I remember this happening on Destiny 2. Games I played for over a decade each. I found in PoE 2 a good replacement, but personally I am not gonna take this shit for much longer...

My anger isn't towards software bugs, they will always exist in any software... My anger is towards how they handled it in 0.4, yes this is a game, but it's also the game that pays their salaries. Devaluing people's time the way they have been doing, not being able to supress and mitigate exploits and leaving the economy become the dumpster fire it became is very sad...

I am sure they made a huge revenue spike to RMT companies this season... That's how pathetic this all situation became...

One hour ago I just went search for items, it's clear most players don't have the ammount of currency some items are listed for, and they are listed that way to move people to RMT, and Temple is sponsoring all that currency unto RMT.

This is a huge failure from GGG. The next time I see exploits and no bans, I will move away definitely for another game...

What are you smoking buddy?

-Almost every single community valid critique (not screaming this game sucks and yelling into the void) has been addressed.
- They make 5-6 hotfixes each league to adjust to the communities desire.
-They post on X almost daily engaging with the community.

The community isn't divided. You just think that cause you're looking at reddit/forum thinking its the community when its not even 5% of the community of the game.

Not sure if it really is Tencent. It could be.

The pay for early access from Path of Exile 1 early players it seems was something they did even in Path of Exile 1 during beta/testing. I guess in a way it is to support the game, the game company, and employees.

If I am not mistaken Path of Exile 1 always had these types of supporter packs so that is not new.

Grinding Gear Games need money from players/people to function as a company. The support packs and paying for early access is just their source of revenue.

I agree that they should focus on the content first. I did think it was odd they already started doing these leagues and the actual game itself is not finished.

However, maybe all these leagues are adding to why it is taking more time to complete the actual game. I think they had hoped within the 6 months to a year they should be closer to completion than they are now. However, the campaign is missing acts, and classes are missing.

One big issue is trying to make each class play different. That is a big task to do, and they have 12 classes. I think that is taking them more time than they were thinking. They probably should have focused on the base game and not be doing leagues before the game is even finished.
