PvP Damage Formula and PvP in PoE2 in General

I am an old school Diablo 2 player and I enjoyed duels there- it's a lot of fun. I study the PvP in PoE 1 and took me some time to understand why the PvP isn't balanced. It's all about the damage formula and I can give an advice to GGG to use this formula instead, cause will make PvP experience more enjoyable and preventing one-shooting.
GGG use the current formula for elemental damage in PoE 1, where D is the individual hit and T is how fast you hit I will show an example:

ElementalDamage = ((D / (150 * T)) ^ 0.55) * 150 * T

Values
D = 200000
T = 0.49
Calculation
150 · T = 73.5
D / (150 · T) = 200000 / 73.5 ≈ 2721.09
2721.09 ^ 0.55 ≈ 77.5
77.5 · 73.5 ≈ 5 700
So if the enemy player does 200k damage, you take 5 700 , so technically one shot.

My idea about the formula reworking is:

ElementalDamage = 0.5 * sqrt(150 * T * D)

Values
D = 200000
T = 0.49
Calculation

150 · T · D = 14 700 000
sqrt(14 700 000) ≈ 3 835
0.5 · 3 835 ≈ 1 920

That’s roughly a −66% reduction, while keeping smooth scaling and much better control against burst damage

Also if there is a kind of Sarn Arena in PoE 2 GGG cloud use debuffs on player similar to those in the Ascendancy trials like players does 50% less damage and you take 50% less damage from hits and 66% from DoT and 75% against critical hits.

Tell me your opinion!

Six or seven years ago, there were pretty similar threads about PvP on forums, and nobody cared, even though I think it's a really important aspect of the game.

I think they left the formula as it was because they wanted to make it "visionary," meaning "one-shot." The main devs of GGG are still a bunch of guys sitting in a room playing a game, laughing their a* off when one of them dies with a single shot, and they think it's a fun experience for everyone.

Your suggestion is to "prolong the fight for a real test of skill," but they can't do that because their "pile of $" players are addicted to constantly watching flashy anime one shot scenes on their second screen while playing PoE.
Neden yaşıyorsun?

Yes thats is my idea and I think will be good experience for a lot of players, being one shooted can demotivate you, but wistanding several hits and continue to fight, showing your test of skills will be enjoyable.

I dislike PvP so Is rather them not spend any developer resources on this personally.

Also they did this in the first game and it flopped so magnificently it was completely abandoned. It would feel silly to me to repeat that here.

Sure if it was that simple, then no problem. Unfortunately if you want PvP with any semblance of balance you would have to use fairly significant developer time to implement it, and significant ongoing time to maintain it or it'll just be an ignored feature like it is in PoE1. All that time could be spent on other core features. Nothing wrong with associating PvP, I just on it at roughly a 0% chance it'll be unopened in PoE2 personally. Guess we'll see.
I don’t personally pvp but would love to see the pvp scene pick back up. I think it is a very interesting vertical of the game.
