Please rename the PoE2 executable to distinguish it from PoE1
|
Hello,
I am a player from South Korea who enjoys both Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2. I am writing this post here because I haven't been able to resolve a specific technical issue through our local publisher. While I am not sure if this is an issue for international players as well, it is a significant problem for those of us using the Korean client. Currently, the executable files for both games share the exact same name: "PathOfExile_KG.exe". (I assume the international version uses "PathOfExile.exe", but the Korean version adds the "_KG" suffix to both.) Because they share the same filename, third-party software such as the 'NVIDIA App' and 'Razer Synapse' cannot distinguish between the two games. This prevents us from applying individual profiles or settings for each game. While I managed to find a workaround for the NVIDIA App by creating dummy files, I have been unable to resolve the issue with Razer Synapse, even after extensive communication and feedback with the Razer Synapse development team. Could you please consider changing the PoE2 executable name to "PathOfExile2_KG.exe(PathOfExile2.exe)"? I noticed that the PoE2 installer is already named "PathOfExile2_Setup.exe", which clearly distinguishes it from the first game. It would be greatly appreciated if the main executable followed the same naming convention to ensure compatibility with various gaming peripherals and software. Thank you for your time and for all the hard work you put into these amazing games. Best regards, Last bumped on Jan 4, 2026, 12:09:50 AM

wow thats an unexpected problem.
The .exes are named the same on my system, but my NVIDIA App actually detects them separately I assume because of the different paths. |

Sounds like a reasonable request.
