Infusions are too restricting

It's a good idea to have these elemental boosts for spells that can even boost their elemental personality or change their element. But the current design has to go.
The first issue is about how PoE2 is supposed to be this game in which you can - depending on your equipment - use any spell regardless of your character class. But infusions make this untrue. Spells that can be upgraded with infusions MUST be upgraded with infusions in order to become strong enough. But characters whom are too away from the infusion tree just can't take advantage of them. It also means that the only way to empower these spells is by other spells that give infusions. What happens is they end up being sorceress-specific. And as for sorcs. The way some spells are upgraded by infusions of other elements means that you kind of have to be a multi-elementalist in order to thrive with those spells. Once again limiting your choices. My suggestion is to either remove infusions or make them part of the support gem system. It's nice to be able to change the element of some spells. But it shouldn't be the only way to use them. Imagine if there were gems that give certain specific spells an upgrade that requires a specific kind of infusion. And other gems would make other spells capable of generating infusions. It would be similar to power/frenzy charges but with more freedom about that. Last bumped on Jan 9, 2026, 10:57:48 AM

Would be amazing to see infusions as supports but you know that good ideas go against the "vision" so..
Also as an infused spark/comet enjoyer i can tell you the infusion gameplay isn't as hard as you might imagine, you get Siphon Elements+Elemental Equilibrium up and it's done, there's like 0 infusion downtime, the Stormweaver's Refracted Infusion also makes it even better but it's way too overkill |

I wouldn't mind seeing the cap on infusions getting raised. Or maybe infusions become a time buff instead of charges to use. Could act more like archon and then go super Saiyan if infused + archon buffed together. Hopefully without so much downside it makes it not worth playing.

Infusions are stupid and whoever designed them should be questioned....
You're forcing people to play a certain style, FORCING people to HAVE to use certain combinations and certain passive nodes in order to not feel like you're using a weak spell. |
