A list of ideas to fix the current state of Temple. (GGG please read)

Dear GGG,

The biggest complaint about POE 2 has always been the lackluster end game. However, you pretty much solved that issue with the Temple system. It did take some time for the player base to understand, but once we did, we were all pretty much hooked. I enjoy watching top gamers like fubgun take a certain farming strategy to the max while teaching casual players like me on how to achieve the same strategy. While I knew I would never reach fubgun's level, I was still having so much fun building my Temple and trying to catch up. With Hotfix #13, this is no longer possible. Why end one of your greatest endgame systems? Nonetheless, the purpose of this love letter is to provide ideas to help you solve this massive issue. These are just a few of many ideas for you to consider other ways to make the game more balanced, challenging and fun for everyone. I hope you have the time to read this.

1. The obvious fix is to revert the "Juatalotli's Medallion can now only be placed on Tier III Rooms". This essentially makes it impossible to build out a temple. Most players will either quit the league mechanic or quit the game all together. GGG, I am confident that your goal is not to make everyone quit.

2. Keep the Temple loot/drops nerf. I think everyone can agree that the loot needed to be nerfed. Even the Top gamers agree with the loot nerf.

3. Make defeating the Architect and Atziri more rewarding and possibly mandatory. For example, make the Restricted Rooms (offered after defeating the Architect) upgradeable rooms and provide a random buff such as increased monster effectiveness, increased rarity, increased rare monsters, etc. (make the buffs as unique as you want). Or give the Restricted Rooms a random buff and a random downside (like 10% more monster damage) that can make your temple more rewarding but harder the more you stack the rooms. Remove the restrictiveness and make it more flexible by allowing players to initially connect the Restricted Rooms to their rooms and remove the destabilization penalty. Make killing Atziri provide additional unique rooms that can be added to your Temple chain. Some rooms can even be made rare and sought out for which will require constant Atziri fights. Make killing the Architect every 10-20 rooms mandatory or else the Temple destabilizes regardless of locks. This will require players to continue to relocate the Architect and rebuild. All these ideas are only good if the " Medallions can only be placed on Tier III Rooms" gets removed.

4. Add new rooms to the temple to encourage diversity in building Temples. Some players may even redo their Temple. You can even announce that you will be adding one new room every Friday as a weekly event! Again, it is only good if " Medallions can only be placed on Tier III Rooms" gets removed.

5. If you die your temple closes. This will encourage better character builds and a more thoughtful approach to building your Temple so it’s not too hard for your build.

6. Double the temple size but half the bonus provided by each room. This will make it longer for players to fully build out their temples, which is actually fun. But it’s only fun if " Medallions can only be placed on Tier III Rooms" gets removed. This would also be great with the addition of new rooms and the addition of unique rooms from defeating the Architect and Atziri.

7. If you want to keep Hotfix #13 as is (which you should not, respectfully), then you must give the players more options to level up their rooms such as significantly increasing medallion drops and the maximum medallions that can be held. Or you can do something more interesting like defeating the Architect and Atziri allows you to upgrade one room and three rooms, respectively. This is high risk and high reward because you get to upgrade the rooms more deterministically, but the Temple destabilizes and the Architect relocates.

In summary, you’ve created such an awesome system that has the potential to multiply in awesomeness. I’ve presented a few ideas, but I am certain there are dozens more. Your goal should not be to restrict players from playing your league mechanic. Your goal should be to expand on your league mechanic. There are so many ways to make the Temple more balanced and challenging yet doable and enjoyable.
