I genuinely tried to engage with the new league mechanic, the Vaal Temple, the “right” way. I went in blind. I tried to learn it myself. I spent hours experimenting, failing, and trying to understand how to actually build and optimize a temple. It was confusing, punishing, and incredibly hard to figure out without outside help. After all that time, all that effort, my grand reward was one Divine. One.

So I did what most normal players do when a system is opaque and unrewarding. I looked for guides. I watched streamers. And almost universally, the advice was the same: go to Holten and use an exploit to farm fast crystals so you can actually build your temple at a reasonable pace. This was not some obscure secret. It was openly discussed, demonstrated, and encouraged.

Tons of people did it. Then it got patched. And nothing happened. No bans. No rollbacks. No consequences. Everyone who used the exploit kept everything.

After that, the developers buffed the temple. Suddenly, casual players like me finally felt like we could participate. We started building our temples. We put in days of playtime, hours of grinding, slowly working toward something that finally felt worth engaging with.

Then, after all that investment, they pulled the rug out. The temple was completely nerfed for players who were still in the process of building. Meanwhile, the players who already had completed temples, many of them built using the exploit, were allowed to keep them. Those players continue to print 20+ Divines per temple, while everyone else is locked out.
So if you exploited early, you won.

If you listened to streamers, you won. If you tried to play fair, learn the system, and engage honestly, you lost.

This is not a game that respects your time. Balance changes are applied selectively, enforcement is nonexistent, and the people who abuse systems are consistently protected while regular players eat the consequences.
