Flesh surgeon for hardcore

Hi a stupid question (or not). In the Vaal temple when the transcension fails (in the surgeon room) the character is supposed to die. In hardcore league does it mean that the character will be permanently dead ?

It would have been fun tbh. Like I saw the process multiple time and it doesn't seem safe AT ALL. :P

So the device going crazy and randomly stab me in the heart killing permanently my character would have add some spice!

Don't mind me, just random intrusive though. :D
