There should be a warning that adding some runes to an item can increase the level requirement
|
As a new-ish player (only a few characters in the 70s on SSF) I had a lvl 1 unique crossbow that I was looking forward to using to help level a new character - I added a couple good glacial runes to it that I farmed on my main - excited for it to help me level - and then it increased the level requirement from 1 to ~30.
I just bricked the orange weapon I was excited to test out - and as a SSF player, I may not see the weapon again to have another chance. THERE SHOULD BE A NOTE ON THE RUNE THAT SAYS IF YOU APPLY IT IT WILL INCREASE THE LEVEL REQUIREMENT OF THE WEAPON. (Not having ANY wording/warning is extremely punishing/beginner-unfriendly) Last bumped on Jan 1, 2026, 3:15:00 PM

The runes have all a level requirement, on them...
like literally and you can easily change the rune to a lower one. Do you really want whenever you pick up a rune a big red flashing banner with the text " Is that a troll post or are you for real? Last edited by Ondrugs#1147 on Jan 1, 2026, 2:09:54 PM

All I'm saying is: As a newcomer to the POE2 world - I was excited to use a unique and placed a rune in it that rendered it unuseable without any warning/wording/message. Just pointing it out - no need to gate keep or take offense.

Also, the level requirement was lvl 1 at the time of adding the rune to the item. After adding it it immediately changed to lvl ~30. So not sure what you're point is (I could've missed something?)

The augments have a level requirement on the item itself. You can also just put a low level rune in over the top if to replace it if its a cheap one.
Athough I did do this with some Bones of Ullur and the Gaze augment the other day. Made it not wearable until 60 or w/e it is. Kicked myself cause that augment is not cheap so not going to replace it so I can wear them again. Just bought a second pair of boots to wear until I reach the level... |
