Technical failures - excessive RAM consumption

I'm having serious problems playing Path of Exile 2 on 0.4 Fate of the Vaal.

The game starts consuming an excessive amount of RAM, beginning with around 15GB usage and quickly increasing to 25GB until the computer runs out of resources to keep running and ends up freezing completely or shutting down on its own.

Obviously, during this process of increasing RAM usage, the game freezes incessantly.

By closing the game, the RAM usage drops drastically, upon opening the task manager and clicking Memory with the game closed, it's possible to see that around 15GB of RAM is now cached.

By downloading a Microsoft tool called RamMap and going to the Menu: Empty / Empty Standby List, the cached memory is freed up and immediately drops to around 250MB, making the PC usable again with 7~9GB RAM used...

However... if I open Path of Exile 2 once again, the RAM cache instantly increases, reaching around 6-8GB, and the computer's RAM usage starts directly at 25GB, just from opening the game, standing in the menu, or standing still in the hideout without even moving the character.

Upon closing the game, we can once again observe that 15GB of RAM are occupied by the cache memory.

I can't stand having to close and reopen the game at the end of each map and having to restart my PC every hour to clear the cache.

GGG, it's time to take some action, your game isn't using the computer's resources correctly.

Damn, PoE2 never uses more than 3,5 GByte RAM on my machine. Must be a windows issue.

Hey, just in case you guys didn't know, Sadaukar is on Linux.

OP, have you found a solution yet?
I would try swapping to Vulkan first.

DX12 lets errors slide causing TDR resets, incorrect addressing, PSO issues and Descriptor table mismatch then will bite you later on. Vulkan won't allow that. Most engines aren't optimized anymore and DX12 will let poor designs slide while Vulkan will not, hence lower performance.

I couldn't forgive myself if I missed this opportunity...

THE IRONY: someone confused valgrind with Vaal grind... 😎
