Elemental armor vs. Resistances
|
Hello, I play shapeshifter and my glorious bear have -41% fire resist at level 64.
BUT!... Am I thinking correctly it is fine for now since my elemental armour reduciton is 84% and it calculates before resistances.... so... I get hit by 16% of evil fire dmg and then it gets increased by 41%? Like my guts are telling me its fine since I am not dying but I kinda want know opinion of somebody more knowledable So I can be more sure about stat priorites of items. " Do you mean the stat '+x% of armour also applies to fire/lightning/cold damage'? That takes the raw amount of armour you have, and x% of that amount is a flat damage reduction before your elemental resistances are applied. So if you have 1000 armour, and a total of '+84% of armour also applies to fire damage': a 5000 incoming fire hit will be reduced to (5000 - 84% of 1000) = 4160 dmg. Then you fire resistance is applied and since it is negative, you get an increase to (4160 * 1.41) 5865 dmg taken. |

"No. https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Armour#Armour_formulas 840 (84% of 1000) armour will be applied to elemental damage. Damage reduction is applied according to the armour formula (effective against small hits, ineffective against large hits). In this example, 840 armour will do almost nothing against 5000 damage hit.
