Embitter doesnt work?? PoE2

The support gem embitter seems to do nothing for lunar assault.

I have phys damage, as well as cold, but the phys damage isnt scaling with embitter. in the tooltip for embitter it says damage of any other type will be converted to cold, and phys should count. is this a bug?

Embitter says "Gain X% Damage as Extra Physical / Lightning / etc".

I think that means only those effects titled "Extra", and not all damage you do.

it actually says that if you would gain extra damage of any type other than cold you would instead gain extra cold damage.

So it doesnt work with flat phys or any ele dmg on gears but with any source of Extra Damage like any passive/support that provides "gain % extra damage as".

Does it work with Guardian of the Wilds notable ("Gain 5% of Damage as Extra Damage of a random Element")? I don't see difference in damage type numbers in the tooltip with or without Embitter.
