Eternal Rage Skill Gem

I am using The Vertex Tribal Mask with a effect of " SKILL GEMS HAVE NO ATTRIBUTE REQUIREMENTS" and yet I cannot use the Eternal Rage skill gem, is this a bug?

Eternal Rage is a spirit gem not a skill gem.
I have no idea if the mask is supposed to work on spirit gems though. |
