Am I missing something?

So.. about the huge damage output I see online. There are a lot of builds with even close to 1M damage for the main skill.

How in the world can you get that? I barely touched 20k damage for my ranger. And with other char. struggling around 10k total damage.

I (think) I have pretty good gear, even follow online builds and use exact same support gems, same Passives, etc. And it seems I`m very close to maxing out the damage. BUUUTTT I`m still waaayy far from that damage I see online.

What the heck am I missing?

A lot of divines...those builds can take 200-400 divines to get that kind of damage.

Divines to buy the perfect gear, or what? Just spam them on items to get perfect stats?
Run rarity. Run Jade Isle maps and pray you geta Rakiatas Flow and sell it for 25 divines. Trade for mid gear. Continue farming. Do this 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and you’ll be able to.

Yes or some craft it. THey have what 70 hours a week to game? They just sit and game all day everyday and make cool shit so they can make money.
Probably situational showcase. On Zizaran account there is vid about werewolf invoker - watch it.
Aside from what's already been stated; the n-game tooltip is a terrible way to judge your damage output.

Some skills will scale differently based a lot of factors; from as basic as what supports are being used, through many in-combat conditions that the tooltip does not account for, to how the skill/spell itself functions.

If you want to dabble into min-maxing your characters, you need to learn how to use Path of Building.
