Unexpected Permanent Ban (Chameleon#7448) upon hitting Lvl 40 in Labyrinth
|
Disclaimer: I have already written to support, but I am also posting here because, based on Reddit threads, this might be a widespread system error. I had to create a new forum account to post this, as my game account is banned. If this is against forum rules, I apologize — my only goal is to understand and resolve this situation.
Hello GGG team and community, My main game account, Chameleon#7448, has been permanently banned for a breach of Section 7 of the Terms of Use at 19.12.25. I received a standard reply from support stating the decision is final and won't be reviewed. I am a completely new player, and I did not intentionally do anything to harm the game or others. To provide full transparency and highlight a possible false positive, here is the complete context: - My Experience: I am a total newbie. Systems like the passive tree are very confusing to me. Friend's Assistance: A friend helped me learn. On one specific occasion, he used AnyDesk for remote access to help me with my passive tree. We also occasionally used Discord screen sharing for advice. - Third-Party Software: The only third-party tool I ever launched was Sidekick. I opened it once to see if it worked and never used it for actual gameplay or trading. -Critical Detail & Evidence: The ban occurred at the exact moment I reached level 40 in the Labyrinth. I was recording my session, and the full video is available here: https://youtu.be/vrFscj-WNXU The video shows normal, legitimate gameplay up to the ban message. - Similar Reports: I found a Reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/1hbgsjd/automated_ban_system_targeting_innocent_players/) where multiple players report identical unexpected bans at the same point (Labyrinth, level 40), suggesting a possible bug in the automated detection system. My appeal/questions to the GGG team are: - Could the use of remote access (AnyDesk) or screen sharing have been misinterpreted as a violation? - Could the isolated, non-functional launch of Sidekick have triggered a flag? - Is there a known issue with the Labyrinth / level 40 milestone triggering false bans? Most importantly, can anyone clarify which specific sub-point of Section 7 was violated? I have read it carefully and cannot understand what I supposedly did. I am even willing to start over with a new account, but I am terrified of repeating an unknown mistake. I have invested in several stash tabs and am deeply disappointed to lose access. My only intention was to learn and enjoy the game. I am posting this publicly in hopes that: - The GGG team might re-examine the case with this full context and video evidence. - Other players affected by similar false positives might share their experiences. Thank you for your time. Last bumped on Dec 23, 2025, 3:48:05 PM

No clue about your specific case, but large numbers of bans being applied at specific points isn't a malfunction in the system. It's the system making it harder for serial cheaters and cheat tool creators to figure out how they're detected.
If a ban is applied immediately after doing X than it's obvious that X was what triggered the cheat detector. To avoid that they instead just set a flag to ban the account at a future checkpoint leaving the cheaters guessing what in the past hour or hours of play actually was detected. Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? |
