no reward for defeating Atziri temple

Hey,

It takes forever to get to the boss and connect all the rooms. But I just fought her and we killed each other, she dropped the medallion, but when i wanted to run back, the damn Doryani destroyed the portal and it was inaccessible. When I left the temple, the game counted it as boss defeated and collapsed my temple layout. Core mechanic? ehm. is it supposed to work like this? biggest disappointment of this league either way
