Solar Orb still works after being removed from skills.

I noticed that the spells for the Sorceress have changed and that Solar Orb has disappeared since the KotF release. It's no longer available in "All Gems" to make. Curiously I switched to my old Sorceress and she still has a Solar Orb gem equipped and the spell still works, but you can't make the skill gem anymore. Is this "legacy" gem the only one I'll ever have from now on? Or is this an oversight on disabling the skill? Will we ever get the skill back again to choose to make it if we want to in the future?
