Can crits from Cast on crit spells trigger stormweaver elemental storm cast on spell crit?

Question is the title thanks

Your original crits (used to charge CoC gem) will trigger elemental storm anyway, after which it will go on cooldown before your CoC goes off, so the question is kinda moot. But yes, in general triggered skills can trigger other skills if conditions are met.

" I thought it was changed so that triggered skills couldn't generate energy or trigger skills? In thinking Choir? Maybe that was only that it couldn't trigger itself anymore? |

" Elemental storm (and choir) don't use energy, they are direct triggers. Also elemental storm cannot deal crits or cause ailments so cannot charge CoC (or proc itself) even if general meta gem rules allowed it. As a side note, elemental storm is a weak skill. I've leveled 3 sorceresses and it is secondary damage at best. In case OP was thinking to use stormweaver with weapon attacks to charge CoC and to proc storm from CoC, not worth it. Even if you heavily invest in cooldown reduction, this reduction would've been better used on spamming eye of winter for 100 times more dps. |

" Elemental storm definitely causes freeze buildup if you are a stormweaver btw. Thanks for the info. Also I’m pretty sure each element of elemental storm has a seperate cooldown. At least that’s what it seems like. I’ve triggered a fire and lightning almost back to back unless there was another stormweaver in the party and I got fooled “In all the realms of heaven and in all the realms of hell I alone am heralded as the honored one, who am I?” Last edited by Lore#3772 on Dec 23, 2025, 4:48:19 PM

" Right, thanks for clarification. I've just always put a (more damage)/(no ailments) gem in there. Low damage won't do much freezing anyway. Also you are correct about 3 cooldowns because those are 3 separate skills. |
