Recent Patch Changed Ferocious Roar Functionality

Before, as the skill description states, it empowered any attack, shapeshifted or otherwise.

Now it empowers sporadically different things. Spearfield for instance, does not proc it despite being a Melee Attack skill, but simple Spear Stab does.

Is it going to be a Melee Strike only Warcry? There's nothing in patch notes about this either, it simply stopped working for me while playing.

Stopped working with ranged attacks, I wonder if the talisman restriction stopped attacks from other weapons from being empowered

Are you using Ferocious Roar with a socketed warcry? Because Ferocious Roar's default warcry says it empowers "attacks," not specifically "melee attacks." But if you socket Infernal Cry, Infernal's description states that it only empowers "melee attacks." Same with Ancestral Cry, and Seismic Cry will obviously only empower slams. That could be why spear auto attack is being empowered, but no Spearfield, because Spearfield might not be categorized as "melee attack."
