Spell Totem dont work like they r intended to be?

Hi People, i am a huge Totem Fan and i use Totems mostly every League that i play. I found out that Spell Totems cant use Remnants at all not a single spell can use it while being on a Spell Totem Slot. Is that intended? For me its really hard... i lose alot of damage just because of the fact that i cant use Remnants on my Comet Spell Damage Totem. In my Opinion there arent alot of Support Gems that boost Totem Damage or good Nodes to really improve the Damage of Totems except Levels at some point. For Example all the Cast or increased Attack Speed Notes while summoning a totem dont work on Spell Totems (Comet)
