Sporadic boss drops not happening with Poison arrow Pathfinder

I've noticed that when I kill bosses with my Poison arrow Pathfinder using Toxic Growth that sometimes there is no loot drop. None at all. I've hidden/revealed loot, disabled my loot filter, everything I can think of and there just aren't any items on the ground.

I've seen this happen multiple times now although it doesn't happen every time. It happens most frequently when I'm mapping and doesn't seem to be associated with any particular boss or map.

For context, I've been playing POE2 since it came out and POE for several years before that. I've never seen this behavior before.

One item of note is that it seems to be somehow related to the toxic growth pods. I've noticed that when the boss dies and some pods exist but have not been poisoned, it's more prone to happen. Also, some of the other trigger events around the end of the battle such as npc animation also don't happen until the final pod exipires.
