Abysal Scarab blocking Depths?

I farmed a boatload of maps with 2 abyss scarabs, abyss device, even had originator shrine for some of them with something like 147% increase chance for abyss's to lead to depths. And got absolutely 0 depths.

Looked it up on reddit and everyone was saying when they removed the scarabs they got depths the map immediately after so I tried it out and got abyssal depths immediately the next map.

Is this just obscenely unlucky and coincidental RNG once scarabs were removed for myself and others on reddit, or is this an actual issue because it seems way too coincidental to be unlucky RNG.

Edit: Could also be coincidental but just incase it's relevant, I noticed when I got the originator shrine for abyss depths chance, I got 0 depths but I got 3 Fortresses in a row.
