Why is Considered Casting suggestted for Apocalypse?

From the description of Considered Casting:

"

Supports Spell Skills that Hit Enemies and you cast yourself....

From the description of Apocalypse:

"

Triggering one of multiple powerful Elemental Skills at an interval while this Buff lasts.

According to logic gathered from my previous Cast on Crit builds, Considered Casting do NOT apply its damage bonus to triggered skills, this does stay consistent and reflect accordingly on Apocalypse's triggered skills damage (hit damage does not change when socketing the support). The Apocalypse buff itself does not have damage component.
So, the question is: Why did the game itself recommend this gem for this skill?
