Campaign is hard to understand

Its difficult to understand just where to go and what to do. I have to keep looking at the quest log every step of the way. The maps are way to big. I will do my best to circle around the border of the maps and start to deviate to the middle. There is way to many directions to go and I have no idea which is the right path. I can not easily understand which zones are connected. I will view the zone i am in from the map and I will see a side quest but have no idea which direction to travel to find it. I will walk past roads, paths or doors because when I walk by i can't see that I am passing these things. There should be an arrow at the start of the zone or arrows to give direction and when I get close the door way should be orange more early on. When there is a boss in the zone there should be an arrow pointing in the direction. I was looking for the scorpion and the worm and I had no idea how to find it.
