Map Gone After Defeating Architect

I just finished my vaal temple and killed the architect. It gave me access to the console to place the special reward rooms. After they were placed the console still had a ! over it, but there was nothing else to do. I found that portals were disabled and I was unable to use one to leave. I checkpointed back to the start and walked out the entrance only to find that the portal back to the map I started in was gone. I used the waypoint to get back to my hideout, but the map appears to have disappeared while I was inside the temple.

We really need something to prevent maps from expiring while we are inside the temple.
