Sorceress Spirit skills

Hello,
​I have been enjoying the game overall. I am currently attempting my second Sorceress run. My first attempt, which focused on the Raging Spirits skill, felt significantly underpowered and prompted me to reroll the character. I much prefer an offensive, glass cannon playstyle, which aligns more closely with the ARPG genre than the Souls-like, dodge-focused gameplay prominent in other classes.
​I have now reached the point where I can choose my first Herald skill again, and I am aiming for an electric-skill-focused Stormweaver build.
​I ran into two main issues that I believe negatively impact build diversity and the player experience:
​1. Inconsistent Skill/Weapon Pairing
​I discovered I am locked out of using Herald of Thunder because it is incompatible with my current weapon, the Voltaic Staff. This is counter-intuitive. My lightning-based staff cannot utilize a lightning-based spirit skill, forcing me to choose between:
​Mana Remnants, which is not useful at this early stage of the game.
​Raging Spirits, which is currently weak in comparison to the damage output of other Sorceress skills.
Arctic Armor which is a defensive ice skill, I planned to focus on offense
It felt as if tge game is pushing me to play a certain way.

​2. Restrictive Weapon Limitations
​The weapon limitations placed on spirit gem skills feel overly restrictive and seem to force players into specific builds and playstyles. I believe this significantly works against build diversity—a core tenet of the POE2 based ARPG experience. It took me two days of dedicated gameplay to realize that a lightning-based mage cannot use the lightning-based spirit gem. Furthermore, the Tier 1 spirit gem skills and spirit gem limitations for the Sorceress do not seem to be as impactful as those for other classes.

Alsp, after picking the wrong herald, why isnt there a way to revert spirit skills back into spirit gems so I can pick another as spirit gem drops seem rare. Its like being punished for making the wrong choice or forced to reroll again for trying to be creative.

All Herald Skills doesn't work with Spells and only works with Attacks. Not sure why they changed that as I'm pretty sure they also worked with Spells in PoE 1.

Anyway, I known it isn't the best or thematic, but I do like playing with a Skeleton Scepter + Wand in Early game as they Tank most damage and still can do a little (very little) damage.

The reason they work only with attacks is that skills get balanced into different "sets". Within a set skills synergize with each other, but they don't have to consider working together with skills outside the set.
Such limitations are essential for playstyle variety. The act of playing herald of lightning with spells (if it would work) is the act of making AoE clearing with lightning spells feel similiar to AoE clearing with lightning bow attack skills. Instead of different builds using different spirit gems and therefore feeling differently, quickly the most effective spirit gems would be used on all builds.
Note how the "limited" playstyles of bear, druid, spell caster and wyvern druid feel all very distinct from each other while also feeling distinct from a deadye, monk or infusion sorceress while the large amount of much more open poe 1 skills feel much more samey.
