PSA - Avoid League Mechanic (Temple) until you understand it

Just a PSA to newer players - I would highly recommend avoiding / not placing rooms in the new league mechanic (temple) until you watch some videos on it and really understand exactly how it works.

It's pretty easy to (soft) "brick" your temple - making it much harder for you to access the architect or boss, by placing your rooms poorly.

There is no way to recover from this other than running it tons of times (completing 6 maps between each attempt) and hoping the rooms you need to have deleted are the ones randomly removed (or lucking out with a sacrificial room that lets you remove one other room).

I unfortunately made it much much harder to get to the architect in my temple with my first run throughs. I was in the middle of the campaign and wasn't interested in learning it at the time, so I just placed rooms haphazardly. BIG mistake. My loop of penance is now:
1) run 6 maps to get another crack at it
2) open temple, do I have a sacrifice room? No
3) close temple without running it, see some rooms get deleted, are they the rooms I need deleted? No.
4) back to step #1, repeat indefinitely.

This league mechanic is incredibly unforgiving and punishing to decisions you can make very early on. I hope it is tweaked but until then be careful.

Also, I have yet to find any definitive resource or guide on how room placement actually works. It is incredibly counter intuitive, with rooms that don't seem like they should connect often connecting, and rooms that seem like they should connect not connecting. I'm stumped, if anyone knows of a good resource or guide explaining room placement it'd be a huge help.

I think I'm in the same boat. It is not just poorly explained but flat out not explained at all.

IMO they should just give us a reset the temple button and let us start over. I know it resets after you beat the architect but I have to actually get there first lol.
You know, as soon as I saw it, I figured this might be the case. Good to have it confirmed before I learned the hard way :P
Lol I was just throwing down paths toward the end.. Still don't understand it but I do pay attention to the mods the rooms are adding. The only issue I had was with a boss guy one shotting me before I finally got enough defense.
So the correct way to enjoy the new content is to not do anything or ignore it. Sasuga GGG.
