Wolves from Pounce Skill not attacking or moving / doing no damage

The wolves from the "Pounce" skill either just stand around or attack and deal no damage. It seems to be sporadic, even unequipping the gem and reequpiing it to resummon the wolves do not do anything. it completely degrades my damage in boss fights when they dont attack. Wolves from pounce are unplayable. the wolves from the "Wolf Pack" spirit gem seem to work.
