is building freeze bugged with wolf?

i went from t1 to t3 maps and now i cant build any freeze except when i use lunar blessing. also the enemies from death encarnation were insta freeze with one lunar assaoult. so i was wondering if there is some kind of bug with that on mapping. im using frozen wall and comet as well and seem to work fine. i tried ice nova and with a trash staff seems to build freeze inmmidiatly, and it does much less damage.
