Romina's Requital not working with Scold's Bridle

Scold's Bridle is a Hit as it works for Recoup purposes, and recoup only works with hits.

However, when I use Wolf Pack with Romina's Requital which are companions and allows me to attach the support, and then cast a spell, the Scold's Bridle works and damages me, triggering recoup.

However, the Companions are not taking any damage despite it saying '10% of Damage from Hits is taken from Supported Companion's Life before you'.

I tried this in hideout and in an area with enemy mobs. In both cases the companion's life does not move.
