Sorceress with Elemental skills feels abysmal to play+Infusions are so clanky

I feel like GGG can't figure out the spell caster balance anymore. Norhing about sorceress is making sense and all the elemental spells feel like a wet noddle. I don't understand why they have such a hard time understanding casters. HAS ANYONE IN GGG PLAYED THEIR OWN DAMN CASTER? It's BAD. The whole infusion thing is also bad and anti synergistic because there is little 'chance to ailments' on the tree. You have to do 5 spell to have the same damage of a melee class just auto attacking a mob. Why? Do people in the GGG headquarter have a beef with sorceress? Is it because no one of your favorite streamers play it? Sorceress is so bad... .

~I had the same experience when playing with Sorceress gems only (Spark with Flame Wall, etc). What finally got the ball rolling for me was getting thunder and fire storm. Especially thunder storm helped me actually get through the campaign. In the endgame the build is speeding up quite a bit. Give that gem a try if you haven't already.~
edit: i take that back, end of campaign to early maps this worked well but having to cast 4/5 skills to get in at least some damage is just not viable in juiced maps. I get overrun by breaches. Last edited by Lechmnizzle#1553 on Dec 17, 2025, 1:53:52 PM

I made many protests against infusions in 0.3 but mostly that they're pick-ups. The pickup range support was required since it gave 100% and passives gave 30% at best.
They changed it early in the league but I still think it's dumb. They should just be stacks like charges. It's not terrible it's just pointless. Makes you have to weave around for no reason. I remember players canning D3 for the health orb arcade feel and now GGG is doing it. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

I'm playing basically the same build I played last league: Spark + Flame Wall, adding on Orb of Storms and Three Dragons to crit/freeze everything, with Frost Bomb giving cold infusions for extra damage and Cast on Crit for a nuke skill. It's basically an overly convoluted and unnecessary way to use infusions, which are here just for the fun of it.
Like most elemental sorcs, it's very slow at first and needs constant attention to gear. The problem is that Spark can't hit enemies often enough, and it's hard to get cast speed mods early on, so you get swarmed and have to rely on terrain and dodging to survive. I often end up using some other random damage skill to get me through tough spots with this build, until higher levels when Spark starts to pull its own weight. In maps, the build can literally walk through the entire map while casting Spark constantly to kill everything on the edge of the screen. Why play a 1-button zoom machine when you can play a 5-skill slogger? Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
