Poison Spores Support Question

I've slotted Poison Spores Support on the new Entangle spell skill gem.

The support gem info says "trigger toxic pustule on hitting an enemy". The pustule detonates after a delay.

The pustule explosion says "Attack Damage: 58%".

Entangle is a spell skill and doesn't use a martial weapon.

So what is scaling the pustule explosion? This explosion is supposed to poison as well. I do not see the enemies hit by the vines take poison damage (no poison icon nor green color).

I'm thinking this support gem doesn't work with Entangle, even though the game is happy to let me slot it.

Anyone have any details that can confirm or correct what I've described above?

Same here
I tried entangle and thrashing vines but it doesn't seem to work with any of them.
Yeah, it does no damage on either thrashing vines or entangle. Though it is a recommended support for the skills so I mentioned it in the bug reports to see if GGG can say anything about it.
The detonation delay is 15 seconds, so the mob needs to be alive for that long. If you apply poison to the mob (via another skill for example) the detonation delay should be lower depending on the expected poison damage.

If it is attack damage it can be scaled with generic Attack Damage. It sounds like it could also be scaled with Area Damage and Poison Magnitude.
I tested it more, the issue is if you are casting the spells with a wand or staff since the pustule does damage based on weapon attack. So if you cast them with a non-talisman weapon (since you must be in human form) or unarmed the support will work as usual. But doubt it is worth losing all the spell bonuses from staff/wand just to make this support work.

The gem says it will detonate faster with poison application. In addition, it says "overgrowth" will act as a "## damage per second poison". So it should explode faster than 15s in this case.
