So, GGG has a big announcement of some kind during The Game Awards. I was pondering what that could be, and I think I’ve figured it out.
A year ago, GGG wanted to have the 1.0 release sometime around this time. Since they are obviously not making that deadline, but want to increase raw player count, this is what I think is going to happen (pure speculation tho)…
They are going to change the access to play PoE2 from a one-time pay to play model to totally free for everyone. Those who spent [at least] $30 to gain access to the game still got their year of early play before everyone else and this will also allow GGG to have the game cook a bit longer without the added pressure of needing to have it officially launched.
Thoughts on this? Any other ideas you have for what the announcement might be? (I think I have it pegged, though) 😉

We all know PoE2 will be a F2P game, so that wouldn't really be a "big announcement", would it?
They are of course going to announce that PoE1 and PoE2 will be the same game after all, with a shared endgame.

The announcement of being named Game of the Year along with the sub reward of Game of the Year across all non soulslike categories, only missing out on the reward for soulslike games since it is hard to win that one against soulslike games as a non soulslike game

Path of Exile 2 will be making some sort of announcement not yet known to the public.
I suggest watching it live on Twitch so you can get the free drops associated with said announcement. 😊
