I learned it while watching this MK streamer named Gubfun. He's crazy good with Scorpion. Engager: ...alright whatever. I'll go with Johnny Cage again. Zoomer: Scorpion, Let's go! "Round 1" Engager: okay I got this.. "FIGHT!" Engager: X - B - Y !! Zoomer: X - B - Y Engager: ... Zoomer: ... Engager: Wait, that didn't work. I died instantly again. Zoomer: Oh yeah, it doesn't work with Johnny Cage. Engager: ... Zoomer: ... Engager: who does it work with..? Zoomer: So like, it used to work with Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Sonya. But in the last patch they Giga-nerfed Sonya, now her move is "X - B - Y - Y - B - A" Engager: ...okay, what about Sub Zero. Zoomer: Well, he's good, but his move is "X - B - Y - X". Still viable, but most people are playing Scorpion right now if they want to min/max. Engager: ... Zoomer: ... Engager: ..Wait that's dumb. Zoomer: Whatchu mean? Engager: Well, I thought we were going to fight it out, but this just seems like we both have to pick Scorpion, and the first to press "X - B - Y" wins. Zoomer: ... Engager: ... Zoomer: Sub-Zero is viable too. Engager: Okay wait. I get that, but isn't that kind of lame and boring? Zoomer: What do you mean? Engager: like, you don't really have to think about anything except hitting those 3 buttons. Zoomer: Well that's just min/maxing bro. Scorpion is meta. Engager: No, it's lame, and not fun. Zoomer: Well, if it's not fun then tell me this. Why are 69% of the players using Scorpion? Engager: ... Zoomer: ... Engager: Look I get trying to be efficient in how you play the game.. Zoomer: Right. Engager: But I thought, you know.. I thought we would have to jump around a bit, things would get a little tense, we would be trying to out-think each other, doing different moves and stuff? Zoomer: Oh for sure, for sure. You can totally do that man. Engager: ..yeah? Zoomer: 100% Yo! Try Reptile. He's pretty cool. Engager: ..heh.. alright. Real fight this time then. Zoomer: You got it hommie, brign it on. Zoomer: rekt Engager: Okay hold on, I want to have a real fight here man. You picked Scorpion again. Zoomer: Gotta go fast man. Engager: I thought we were going to play an actual match here. Stop picking Scorpion. Zoomer: ...I guess I could use Sub-Zero for a few rounds. Engager: ... Zoomer: ... Engager: ... Zoomer: Well then what dude?! Don't tell me how to play. Engager: But I don't want to just hit "X - B - Y" every time. Zoomer: Bro, there are like 15 other characters. If you want to slog your way through the fight, go ahead. I tried that and it was slow as hell. Engager: I don't want a slog but.. Zoomer: I'm going to stop you right there man. Engager: ..? Zoomer: Why are you trying to take my fun away. I Don't tell you how to play. Engager: Dude no, I don't want to take your fun away, I just wanted to play a fighting game with you. Zoomer: ... Engager: But we can't do that if you play Scorpion and do that move. Zoomer: ... Engager: ... Zoomer: I get it. Engager: You do? Zoomer: yes. You're jealous of my meta play style. Engager: wait hold on.. Zoomer: Do you know what it took to get here? I played this game for a while before I learned how to be efficient. They don't just tell you the best character, and these moves, you have to learn the game, learn the meta. Engager: But that sounds boring. Zoomer: ... Engager: ... Zoomer: ...I had fun Engager: You know what, screw it. I'll see if I can get in touch with the devs later and maybe they'll fix this. Zoomer: God man, you're one of 'those' guys. Look if you want to play some boring slog, play a different style, you can play literally anything you want. Stop trying to limit how I play the game. Engager: Alright.. k, look man. Maybe we should just try another mode or something. You know, where we aren't fighting each other, but against the computer. Zoomer: ...aight fine. Sounds good. Hey sorry I got a little upset there. Engager: hah.. yeah. Me too man. It's all good. Just a game right? Zoomer: frfr 100% bro lol Engager: Okay then. Good. So how does this mode work? Zoomer: Alright, so first pick your character. Engager: I'll go with my boi Johnny Cage. Zoomer: Nice. Okay so, what you do is you kill the other guy, and then you pick up the points. Engager: Points? Zoomer: Yeah. Basically, you're trying to kill them as fast as you can, so you can get the points faster. Engager: Alright.. cool Zoomer: See there? On the ground, pick those up. Engager: Gotcha! nice.. Wow I'm at 200 points already! Zoomer: Sweeeeet man. You're doing it man! GG!! Engager: Haha! Oh man.. intense fight! Hey, what's your high score in this? Zoomer: 56 trillion. Engager: ... Zoomer: ... Engager: ... Zoomer: See right there, 56 trillion points, Scorpion. Engager: OH FFS.. Zoomer: ... Engager: ... Zoomer: Bro I don't fighting games are for you.
