The game should already HAVE this jewel

What I want is a unique jewel that we can equip in a jewel slot on the passive tree that lets us "tunnel" to another jewel socket on the tree.
I just did the math on it and in the most extreme case of using it to go to the exact opposite side of the tree, because anything beyond 180 degrees would just be cheaper to go the opposite direction, but in the most extreme case it's like having a jewel that gives 150 strength, dex, or int. But it's actually not that unbalanced at all, because we don't actually get those stats; that's just what it would save us if we were to take the nodes to the other side. 150 ISN'T that crazy, and in most cases, it would be less because people aren't usually doing the most extreme case every time. It would save us 20-30 points in base stats that would just be traveling. Honestly, im not sure how it doesnt exist already. There is no way this is a unique idea... and maybe the implications of it in PoE 1 were a lot more drastic, but PoE2 seems almost set up for this to be a thing. I think it makes a ton of sense and is something I could definitely make use of. Last bumped on Dec 6, 2025, 12:48:57 AM

Are you asking for something like the Impossible Escape jewel?

I'd have to see exactly how it functioned, but yeah, from reading it, it sounds like something kind of like this.
We would put it in one jewel slot, and we can pick another jewel slot somewhere else on the tree and start allocating points from that slot. You wouldn't get any stat benefits from the jewel slots. That makes using it to take something that is close by not really worth it because 2 nice jewels would just be better. All the points it would be saving you are just base stat points. It could at the max save us from needing to take up to 30 points. Anything past that and it would just be cheaper to go the other way. You know, since were like on a circle. That doesn't seem that unreasonable to me at all. If one were to try to use it to take something that isn't that far away, then one can argue that 2 regular good jewels would make it not worth it. BUT if you can pick up some really important passives, then it might be. I wish we could at least test it out and see what it would be like in practice. It could take some builds that would be considered bad and put them right back in the running for being some of the strongest builds lol I could see it causeing some problems, but I also want to see exactly what the problems are. |
