0.4 Patch Notes Pathfinder Feedback: A Ranger-Side Idea for Path Seeker

Hi, GGG!

I just read through the 0.4 patch notes and I'm very excited to try everything out next week. You guys are absolutely killing it!

As mentioned in the title, I'm a Pathfinder enjoyer. Last league, I played a Lightning Arrow + Shockburst Rounds setup — LA for clear and shock, and Shockburst for single-target DPS — while also investing heavily in movement speed penalty reduction and life/mana sustain through permanent flask uptime. If you're curious, here’s my character from last league:

I wanted to give some feedback on the new Path Seeker multi-choice Ascendancy Passive Skill. With the changes to Traveller’s Wisdom, it looks like Path Seeker is now our main way of getting additional passive skill points. The option to choose nodes from the Warrior or Sorcerer starting areas is an awesome addition and opens up a lot of creative new build paths — including a Spark Pathfinder I'm currently theory-crafting.

That said, it feels a bit odd to take this node if you don’t plan to use either the Warrior or Sorcerer starting areas. What would you think about adding a third option that further specializes within the Ranger starting area? It would make the skill feel more universally valuable while still preserving the cool cross-class possibilities.

I really love the idea of having strong, consistent life/mana recovery through flask investment, paired with being able to zoom around blasting monsters without being slowed. To accomplish this, a build like mine invests 6 of the 8 available Ascendancy points into Relentless Pursuit, Running Assault, and Enduring Elixirs — leaving just 2 points for anything else. In past leagues, those points would naturally go into Traveller’s Wisdom, but with that skill now reworked, it puts the build in a strange spot: I'm taking Path Seeker purely for the extra passive points, but I'm not benefiting from the coolest part of the skill, which is the additional specialization.

I absolutely trust your design direction and know you’ll do what’s best for the game. But it does feel like offering a Ranger-focused specialization option within Path Seeker could be a very cool and natural addition for players who want to lean harder into the Ranger side of the tree.

For example, a Ranger specialization could grant effects like additional movement speed penalty reduction, movement speed, running speed, or even the ability to get 5 passive points instead of 4 — similar to how Traveller’s Wisdom used to function. Something flask-related could also be very cool, and honestly even more thematic than the generic movement bonuses! (I'm not saying this Ranger specialization should get all of these benefits, but these are just some fun ideas that come to mind.)

Huge thanks for all the awesome changes. Counting the days until I can play next week!
