Spell Totems Needing Charges=Instant Garbage

The game is slower paced which is a perfect synergy for spell totem gameplay and having that be a archetype sounds amazing.

I haven't really played since 0.1 and within the announcement of Spell totems it went instantly into hype. You finished the sentence and talked about multiple charges needed for each totem....instantly lost all interest in the changes made.

Why have every archetype in this game have some sort of skill rotation requirement for tedious gameplay? I'm not asking for a walking simulator but designing every single thing in your game to require rotations and tedious mechanics is ridiculous.

It felt like you guys moved from "piano flask" to piano skill bar which is just far worse. Now instead of playing an ARPG and hitting flasks constantly (4) you play piano skill bar and hit (4-7) constantly.

TLDR: To play PoE2 everything is designed so the player will spin in 3 circles counterclock-wise and walk 3 steps every 1.2 seconds to fire a skill and do damage but why?

Hope is fading.

I actually thought they would ease up on that after the last few patches. (Especially the parry disaster in 0.2 for frenzy charge gen)

But unfortunately, they are doubling down. Think its slowly time to accept it, this isn't going to be an open-ended game where you can do crazy builds / combinations of spells.

It's all forced archetype-based play, where you have to "earn" every single big spell/attack you do by doing small attack patterns first.

Clearly most people can see why this is boring to do all the time, but the trolls on forums will tell you to go back to poe-1 for your "zoom-zoom" play. And unfortunately seems like GGG has the same opinion for POE 2.

It is what it is, just try the new league mechanic for a few days, see if you can find any chill build that isn't finger-breaking combo inducer, and quit in a week or so. That's just how poe-2 is meant to be played.

Yeah I mean I get it, I don't need PoE1 Zooming I just don't see how 5 button rotation requirements is a better experience when a huge complaint from everyone is Piano Flasks.

I'm actually not even asking to zoom, I'm just asking to slam down some totems and only play totems without having to jump through 5 hoops to play the type of character I'd enjoy. It's weird.
Spell totems & Ancestral Warrior totems.

I play totems because i want a chill playstyle not to button mash as a bear to generate charges to put down 1 totem.

Can you imagine the outrage if they made every minion cost charges to summon? It destroys the overall playstyle of the build archetype.

Also to note, surely it can't be a "we don't like the totem play style" because ballista/mortar cannon builds have the same playstyle and don't cost charges, yet.....
