Returning Players Thoughts

I took a break from POE 1 a few years ago. I had started playing back when there were just three acts. A lot has changed and I enjoyed this trip. It can be overwhelming when you see all of it at once. I leveled a witch to 91. I prefer POE 2 to POE 1 but still enjoyed this experience. A few thoughts:

1. I leveled to 91 and never saw one Divine orb. A bit demoralizing to be honest. I realized I wasn't going to be able to gear this witch out the way I wanted to at this rate and just stopped tonight.

2. This game is massive and I really enjoy the trade features that got carried over from POE 2.

3. I feel this was a good break for me between POE 2 leagues.

4. I will not be giving anymore real money to GGG for POE 1. Just doesn't feel good to hit that brick wall.

5. I followed guides and they allowed me to reach red maps and do a lot of content, so no complaints there.

6. The crafting system still seems a bit much for me but I think that if I had invested some serious time in watching some videos, I could have crafted some gear.

7. The leveling process got a bit tedious towards the end. I couldn't imagine having to do that again so soon to make another character.

Please share your thoughts. I had a good time. I wish a few things were a bit different but new POE 2 league is almost here, so it is all good.

Welcome back Exile! :)

This league sees fewer raw currency drops, so it's not that surprising that you didn't find a Divine yet. However, if you are playing the current temporary league, the Graft Tree provides superior gear. It's very easy to get well-rolled items via Provisioning Wombs

If you want to experiment with crafting without risking currency, you can check CraftOfExile.com as it has all the necessary resources between estimate mod weights and an item and crafting simulator

The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
POE1 is in fact massive. For someone who hasnt kept up to date with all the content, I can understand why you would favor POE2.

But POE1 has so much more depth, the more you play it, the better it gets. I highly suggest you keep coming back when you are on a break from 2 or other current games, you might find yourself hooked once you are less overwhelmed.

As far as giving money to GGG for POE1. POE1 and POE2 purchases are shared. Any stash tabs or MTX you buy carry over between the two games.
