Excessive latency problems - ongoing

I've been having a lot of latency issues. I normally log in via the California login servers. However lately the actual hideout or map latency figures have been 100-110 ms with significant jitteriness and less frequent rubber banding.
I did some basic analysis with network mode as I normally have it (Auto) and with Lockstep. Issues seemed a little better while in lockstep mode but it wasn't an exhaustive test. If I had to guess, there might be either routing issues or somehow the California login server is connecting me to something far outside it's normal area. If someone from GGG wants I could do some command line ping and trace route tests if they can give me some IP addresses to target. California login latency: 50 ms. Hideout/Map latency: 100-110 ms. Texas login latency: 65-70 ms. Hideout/Map latency: 80-85 ms. Washington, D.C. login latency: 75 ms. Hideout 75 ms. Map latency: 65 ms. (Aspirants' Plaza 65 ms, Karui Shores 75 ms). Thanks! This has been happening to me as well. California and Texas have much higher ping times than normal.

I guess I could use MTR as well. Either way, I need the IP addresses to target.

I see now. The drop down boxes weren't working for me before for some reason. I have looked at my logs but as of today it seems to no longer be needed as the latency seems to be fixed now across all three login servers.
Login Washington 70, Karui Shores 65, hideout 55-60, map 65. Login California 50, Karui Shores 60, hideout 60, map 60. Login Texas 65-70, Karui Shores 70, hideout 65, map 60. I can go back to the California server now. Thank you for your help! I now have the tools/info to further diagnose this when it happens again. This can be closed. |
