Druid Teaser: Art Team delivered a Masterpiece. Combat Team's Turn

Your Art Team just delivered a masterclass, from the composition, scenery, delivery, all of it breathtaking

That transformation into a wolf is a masterpiece

The vision in that teaser is crystal clear and genuinely inspiring

Now the Combat Team faces their moment of truth, will they match that standard, or repeat the Huntress mistake? Another ranger clone? Beautiful transformations buried in unreadable VFX, projectile, AoE soup?

Can this vision realize the greatest melee combat in ARPG history? Or will PoE 1's decades old design mistakes haunt us again?

I've been very harsh since EA, since the Endgame reveal, honestly.. and i was right to be worried, but don't mistake my criticism for hate, i love your games, i just need them to live up to the vision

I want to play the best melee combat possible

I want an endgame that still is about combat

I want to see shit in the endgame

I want skills to feel good from the get go

I want to enjoy tough encounters

I want the game to let me express my skills as a player

I want to be rewarded for engaging with the combat

I want an ARPG; a dungeon crawler, i don't want a Bullet Hell Vampire Survivor

What's the point of having an Art Team that delivers masterpieces if it's to end up looking like that:

I want to see my wolve transformation AT ALL TIMES

I want to see my swings AT ALL TIMES

I want to see me ripping off monsters's arms AT ALL TIMES

I want to see me hitting monsters AT ALL TIMES

Is it too hard to ask?

Imagine building a character around Parry in the campaign, then you reach endgame, do you think there is room for Parry in there?

Why does the combat team still pushes you AND rewards you for ruining the game?

Remember 0.3, at the announcement day, my thread about visual clarity of the fissure got deleted by your mods

Some of your teams work AGAINST the interests of the game

Or are you chasing zombies to milk? if so, then everything make sense, and i apologies for my relentless desire for greatness

I think Jon with his power fantasy works against the interest of everyone else.

I know this video, you see nothing, but for 5 minutes it drops multiple divines and perfect exalt.

Thats power fantasy...
I only see " i want i want i want "

"
I only see " i want i want i want "

don't be trying to frame my post as entitlement

OF COURSE that's what i want, why wouldn't i want to see my character and have combat that matters? why wouldn't i want to admire how beautiful the game is?

it's what the game wants, it's what the Art Team fought for

if that's not what you want too, then you are free to ignore my posts and go back to blasting in your 5 FPS 100% delirious gray mapping, all you need is a minimap after all

Jon is the reason why we have a sequel, has has the right vision for the game, up to his employees to live up to it, so far, only half of the team is working towards that goal, and it's the Art Team

This is very negative and non-constructive comment.

So many people complain about their builds. Buff this. Gimme that. Remove XP penalty. Etc etc etc... This guy is nothing like that.

We all want to see what is going on on our screens. We all want better performance.

We are not doing overrun breach inside delirium fog because we like it. We do it because GGG is forcing this end-game farming strategy meta on us.

And the thing is - you see nothing. You just run and click one button for hours, then pick up divines and move to next map.

Complete visual chaos.

Why design your game with so many monsters and own skills, animations...

When we cannot see a shit.

Unfortunately that is not true.

He has the wrong vision, because he thinks that players should reach a point where they feel like gods and explode everything 2 screens away.

He is exactly the one who is pushing the game in that direction.
He is the one pulling the strings, and everyone else is just a dancing puppet.

On the other hand Mark is the one who is playing the weakest classes with the garbage skills to actually try to make the game accessible and fun for every class.

Yes, some employee may have prepared the skill's level/base damage charts. Sure.
But when he was done, JON decides if this goes into the game, or if it gets buffed or nerfed before that.

That employee's opinion is completely irrelevant, because that employee is not the director. Even if this employee actually plays the game like us, and tries to protest, the one thing he can get is getting fired. Nothing more.
