Crash with Legacy of the Rose Shaper slam

When I use the Shaper slam from the staff Legacy of the Rose on many enemies or a pinnacle boss, the game crashes and I loose all the portals. I tried on a white map on a few normal enemies and it didn't crash right away, but by the third time I tried, the crash happened.
I tried it on maven and infinite hunger and I got the crash on the first attempt.

The problem seems to be caused by playing on "private" on the steam account setting for game details. It no longer happens since changing it to public.
