"Standalone PoE not detecting Steam files after account merge"

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue after merging my Steam account with my email account.

Description of the problem

I originally played only through Steam.

Then I logged in using my email, and the game asked to merge both accounts.

After merging, both accounts now appear (Steam = ending #9829, Email = ending #4101).

However, after merging, the standalone Path of Exile client started trying to redownload the entire game, even though I copied all folders from the Steam installation to the standalone installation folder.

Some folders and files mentioned in the official instructions also do not exist in either installation.

Even after copying everything, the game insists on downloading again.

Steps taken

Logged into the email account.

Accepted the account merge request.

Copied the Steam folder into the standalone client folder.

Tried launching the game — but it begins a full redownload.

Expected behavior

The standalone client should recognize the copied Steam files and only patch what is missing.

Actual behavior

It ignores the files and attempts a full redownload.
