SOLVED Tender Embrace(Graft) does not work with Pious Path(Inquisitor)

Pious Path makes energy shield regeneration per second to be equal to life regeneration per second. Unfortunately life regeneration received from Tender Embrace does not apply to the energy shield regeneration per second but it should while affected by Consecrated Ground.

Edit: blackdeath101 has pointed out items providing shield recovery rate which work with recovery received from Pious Path proving my assumptions wrong. Thank you!

Tender Embrace doesn't grant Life Regeneration, it grants Life Recovery Rate.

It gives Life Recovery Rate which increases life regeneration per second. With Pious Path increased life regeneration per second should result in also increased shield regeneration.
Life/ES recovery rate applies after regeneration rate. Pious Path copies the regeneration prior to applying recovery rate.

That's why sources of increased, or in this new case of more, recovery rate only apply to the life regeneration. Putting on any source of increased life recovery rate will not change ES regeneration rate in that set-up.

This is exactly why it is a bug. Pious Path should copy regeneration after applying recovery rate. Pious Path states: "Life Regeneration to also Recover Energy Shield for you and Allies". Also there are no modifiers with which you could change Shield Regeneration per second received from Pious Path, it's only source is life regen.
That's not true. If you equip sources of ES Recovery Rate, it works with Pious Path. In the same way as life recovery rate, ES recovery rate only applies to the ES regen rate and not the life regen rate.

Assume you have 1000 life regeneration rate combined between flat and % life, 20% life recovery rate, 100% ES recovery rate, and 0 ES regeneration rate before allocating Pious Path.

Your net life/sec is 1000 x 1.2 = 1200
Your net ES/sec is 1000 x 2 = 2000

Pious Path just copies the 1000 combined flat and % life regeneration rate and makes it apply as 1000 ES combined flat and % ES regeneration rate. That's why when you allocate Zealot's Oath, your life regeneration is 0, thus you lose all effects of the double dip as there's nothing left to add to ES regeneration.

This is easily confirmed in-game or in PoB. Equip an item like Watcher's Eye, Beast Shawl, etc that grants ES recovery rate and doesn't have stats that change your life regeneration rate. Belt is probably the most neutral option, just a bit of a pain to find one that has 0 str/life/regen on it (to not change % life regen). No belt, write down life and es regen/sec in stats screen. Equip belt, and write down new life and es regen/sec. If testing with ES recovery rate and nothing else on it, life regen/sec will not move. If testing with life recovery rate, as expected, ES regen/sec will not move.

And while it is third party so taken with a grain of salt, just adding a custom line to PoB like "x% increased life recovery rate" does nothing to es regeneration rate. And vice versa. And the character I tested with only has ES regeneration from Pious Path, no where else.

TLDR: Working as intended. ES recovery rate does work with Pious Path.
