game shutting down immediately after launching

So like the title says.
I launch the game, a black screen appears, the cursor changes to the PoE one and then the game immediately closes itself.

Ive tried:
deleting the folder;
reinstalling;
changing game installation drive;
verifiying the integrity of local game data;
launching windowed (in the steam launch options)

after 12k hours im slowly starting to get into the game so would like to continue playing it, any ideas welcome.

additionally, I can play all other games, including PoE 2

For anyone who cares, I deleted the path of exile folder in my documents and it started right up. Must've been something in my settings. Pity I had to play OTHER games for a week, disgusting.
